Committee Nominations Now Open

Get Involved with Old Grammarians RFC

The nomination process for committee positions at Old Grammarians RFC is now officially open, and we would love to hear from any member who would like to play a greater role in shaping the future of our club.

Every year, all committee positions are subject to election by the membership at our Annual General Meeting. This year is no different; every role listed below is open for nomination, and we warmly encourage members to consider putting themselves forward.

Available Positions

  • President
  • Honorary Treasurer
  • Honorary Secretary
  • Director of Rugby
  • Club Captain
  • Senior Section Fixture Secretary and Referee Coordinator
  • Safeguarding Officer
  • Chair of Touch Rugby
  • Chair of Women and Girls Rugby
  • Minis U6s-U12s Chairperson
  • Boys Youth Section Chairperson
  • Volunteer Co-ordinator
  • Facilities Manager
  • Communications Manager
  • Head of Fundraising

Full details of each role and the responsibilities involved can be found in the Role Descriptions document attached to this article. The nomination form is also attached and must be used for all submissions.

How to Nominate

Nominating yourself or a fellow member is straightforward. Each nomination requires only one proposer, a current member of the club who supports the candidacy. All nominations must be submitted using the official nomination form in one of two ways:

  • By Post or In Person – Print the nomination form, complete it by hand, and submit it as directed on the form.
  • Electronically – Complete the nomination form digitally and email it to oldgrammariansofficers@gmail.com. Please copy in your proposer when sending your email so that their support is formally acknowledged and on record.

The deadline for all nominations is 12 noon on 30th June 2026. No nominations will be accepted after this date.

Not Sure Where to Start?

If you are interested in getting involved but would like to find out more about what a particular role entails before committing, please do not hesitate to speak to any current committee member. We are all happy to talk you through what our roles involve and answer any questions you might have. We would far rather have a conversation than miss out on someone who could make a real difference to this club.

Why Get Involved?

Old Grammarians RFC is entirely member-led. Everything we do, from organising fixtures to developing our facilities, from supporting our minis to growing our girls' section, happens because our members give their time and energy to make it happen. Joining the committee is a brilliant way to give something back, develop new skills, and be part of the decisions that shape the club you love.

Whatever your background or experience, there is likely a role where you can contribute. We are stronger as a club when more voices are around the table.
