The U13's have played Epping over recent seasons and they have been ruthless against us, with high scoring games from their side. This time we were prepared, taking a strong competitive squad to Epping. After a few last minute changes to our starting squad we kicked off conceding a try within the first few minutes. The coaching team immediately thought we could be in for a long day.
That wasn't to be, we regrouped and scored some sensational tries in the first half. One of those being a ridiculous pass out of the backdoor from Rhys with support from Heath to score under the posts. We finished the first half 15-20 to us.
Following a few half time changes and direction from both the players and coaching team the flood gates opened in the second half, running in a further x7 tries and did not concede a point in the 2nd half, winning 15-55.
As we mentioned after the game, this really was a team effort, every player played their part during the game, whether that be making a tackle, hitting rucks, jackaling to turn over the ball. It really was a superb effort, we stepped it up and everyone worked really hard for the end result, a fantastic team performance.
Some noticeable mentions:
Player of the Day - Rhys for his game management throughout, his elusive runs, tackled extremely well and that sensational offload, Sonny Bill-esque.
Magical Moment- Firdaus, running half the length of the pitch, showing some gas and then some electric footwork to sidestep their last man in defence, great try.
That's x3 wins on the bounce for us, it's all starting to click just in time for tour, thanks all!
