The U16 girls represented Middlesex brilliantly this weekend, delivering a strong and spirited performance that really summed up the hard work they have put in across the season.
From the first whistle, there was a real sense of purpose about the group. Defensively, they were organised and committed, working hard for each other and putting their bodies on the line when it mattered. In attack, they played with confidence, moving the ball well and creating some excellent opportunities against tough opposition.
What stood out most was the togetherness. Every player contributed, and the effort across the pitch never dropped. It is clear how much this group has grown over the season, not just individually but as a team.
Megan had an outstanding game, leading from the front with her physicality and relentless work rate. She was involved throughout, making key tackles and carrying strongly to get the team over the gain line. Her consistency this season has been brilliant, and once again she showed exactly why she has been such an important player for Middlesex.
Isse also delivered a fantastic all-round performance. She read the game well, showed real composure under pressure and supported play intelligently. Her energy helped keep momentum going, and it is great to see her confidence continuing to grow week by week.
Both Megan and Isse have had excellent county campaigns. Their development, attitude and commitment to the team have been clear all season, and they have played a big role in the progress and success of this Middlesex side.
Off the pitch, there was just as much to be proud of. A massive thank you to Hazel, Tilly, Keeva, Sofia and Lily who, despite not having county commitments this weekend, gave up their time to support and help coach our newly formed U12 girls group. That willingness to give back and support the next generation says everything about this group and the culture we are building.
Overall, it was another really positive outing for the squad. Full of effort, determination and proper team spirit, the girls should be proud of how they represented Middlesex and everything they have achieved this season — both on and off the pitch.
