After a wait of 2 years, we welcomed our friends from the West country who so warmly looked after us in Bristol tour back in March 2020.
OGs were missing a couple of their key forwards but nevertheless had a very strong team ready. Old Bristolians we knew from our previous encounter were a team full of talent and guile and from the warm up so rather intimidating large players!

After a great day in White Hart Lane watching Sarries win, both sides and parents were ready, sun was shining and the OBs coach blew to start the match.

The game started with an early try from our right winger Alex, following some impressive straight running from our tight head Finlay who provide a nice wide pass allowing our speedy winger to run in our opening try which was duly converted by our outside half Oscar.

3 more tries followed quickly from our loose head Isaac (with a 30m run) and then another long elusive run in by our no.13 Tayte. This provided OGs with a 24-0 lead.

Then after some subsitutions by OGs, OBs roared back with 4 tries of their own with some impressive silky running by their backs cutting through the OGs defence. The half finished with OBs leading 26-24 in what was a match full of power from OGs from their forwards equally matched by elusive and skilful back play by OBs in a very entertaining match. Our wingers Charlie and Alex were kept very busy with this back play and produced some excellent clean tackles to snuff out the OB wide play.

The following 25 mins was a tough battle between the two teams bringing roars of support from the travelling families. The level of play was exceptional with both teams raising their games to counter each other. Some great hold ups in mauls was displayed by both sides as well as a pretty evenly matched scrum. The OBs no.3 was particularly powerful, so kudos to our tight head for not buckling!

OGs manaaged to score two more tries, a 5m drive from a quick taken penalty by our no. 8 Manni. Another score by Tayte who also displayed some 'Sonny Bill' offloads and OGs were running with a substantial lead. Oscar proceeded with the conversions.

Another brace of tries from OGs sealed the victory on a hugely entertaining game enjoyed by fans and coaches alike.
