Our girls, along with cluster partners Enfield Ignatians, faced a challenging first league game against the Harpenden, Dunstable and Stortford cluster.
Despite their efforts, they were unable to get on the scoresheet, but there was plenty of determination and a refusal to give up.
The girls stuck to their jobs throughout, supporting each other and continuing to work hard when things weren’t going their way. The start of the second half was particularly encouraging, with the basics coming together and real passion showing in their play.
Defeats can be frustrating, especially when everyone has put so much into the game. But Maisy summed up something the whole team can be proud of: “We kept going.”
That attitude matters.
There are areas to work on, but also positives to take into training as the girls regroup, reflect and grow together.
Well done to every player for the effort they put in. Enjoy half term, girls — we’ll get back to work together and build from here.
