A very big well done to our U16 girls who stepped up at short notice to take part in a last minute, three team, round robin 10 a side event at Old Albanians RFC in Watford this afternoon.

The girls took on three tough fixtures and delivered a superb all round performance. On a cold and windy day, they showed real commitment, skill and spirit from the first whistle to the last.

The feedback from our hosts spoke volumes; hard tackling, sharp passing, excellent support play and a great rugby feel throughout the afternoon. It was a proper team effort, with everyone contributing and working for each other.

A big thank you to our team managers, Kitti and Angela, for helping to pull this together at short notice, and to Old Albanians for hosting such an enjoyable and well organised afternoon.

On the pitch, the girls can be really proud. Two strong wins and one narrow loss, with plenty of good rugby played across all three matches. All ten players gave everything and each made a big contribution.

Results:

• Game 1: vs OA and Enfield Ignatians, 10–12 loss
• Game 2: vs Hitchin and Fullerians, 26–5 win
• Game 3: vs OA, Fullerians and Hitchin Barbarians, 22–10 win

Great rugby, great energy and a really positive afternoon all round.
