Our 1st road trip took the Ladies to a windy, but sunny Finchley RFC for their 2nd R4R game and rematch.

It was always going to be cagey affair with both sides defending stoicly. The Head Coach was heard to say early on " I can see this as a 0-0 draw", such was the intensity of defending.

However, through that defence Angela found a gap deep in our half and did cross the opposing try line only for the ball to fall from her grasp...

However, that didn't stop us and another break saw us take the lead with a try for Vero.

The second quarter Finchley attacked repeatedly and got through our defensive line finally.

A debut try for Tina saw us take the lead again as the game started to break up into the quarter.

Unfortunately, in the 3rd quarter, due to a clash of heads for two Finchley players, as we were about to score the referee quite rightly stopped play.

The 4th quarter took place with a new referee (as the original was on hospital duty with his players), and that disrupted our flow, conceding 2 tries late on.

The score didn't reflect the energy and hard work put in by all the players on both sides.

Lessons learnt to be taken into training sessions and individual reflection of our on field discipline need to be addressed too.

All in all a proud and happy Head Coach ?

Roll on our next fixture...
