Warsaw Frogs 19 - 38 Old Grammarians

Graham Kantorowicz

Rounding the season off in style with a win in Poland

After two days of intensive preparation, a strong OGs touring side took on Warsaw Frogs at the University Sports Ground on Saturday. OGs started well and Chris K finished off a well worked move down the left. Frogs hit back almost immediately, going through a couple of phases to pull OGs defence out of position and then putting their centre through when a gap opened up. Danger thought he had scored, but a foot in touch ruled his effort out. However, OGs were playing with an advantage and from the penalty they repeated the move to give Danger his try. With Jordan forced off by a broken finger Jake moved to 10 and put Charlie in with a well executed grubber behind the Frogs' defence.
Half time score 5 - 21.
The second half started slowly. Neither side created any clear chances and play was concentrated around the middle of the field. Eventually OGs pushed play into the Frogs' 22 and Andy scored when they failed to deal with Jake's chip through. Chris burst through a couple of tackles in midfield for his second before Frogs capitalised on an OGs knock-on, to scoop up loose ball and score unopposed. Jake then grubbered through for Charlie to score a near carbon copy of his first try. Frogs had the final word when their forwards muscled their way over the line for a try on the stroke of full time.
