The seniors journeyed to Bedfordshire to play Luton for the first time in many years. On a pitch in the shadows of the M1, OGs made a promising start. Tries from Jace and Dan established a 12 point lead, before an interception allowed Luton to pull a score back. A try from Jake reestablished a two score lead, but injuries to Raihan and Will interrupted OGs rhythm and Luton were able to score again to narrow the gap to 12 - 19 at half time.
The second half saw a repeat of the previous two matches. Luton came out firing and scored seven tries in 20 minutes to take complete control of the game. To their credit, OGs did not let their heads go down and in the last quarter they showed their true mettle. Two tries from Charlie and a second from Jake secured the bonus point and brought some respectability to the final score.
Despite languishing in 9th position, OGs have scored more points than five of the teams in Counties 2. We just need to sort out the third quarter defence.
