I want to start by saying a big thanks to Harlow RFC for being such sporting hosts. Their approach to the fixture and the way it was officiated was in the true spirit of rugby with fairness and learning at its heart.
We were able to field two teams of 8 and it was our first real experience of playing on the maximum U10's 60mx35m pitch and playing 15 minute halves.
Both of our teams responded well to this challenge.
Players dug deep into their resources to deal with longer playing time and this was evidenced by a lot of rosie cheeks at the end of each match. And whilst Harlow were very well drilled in the ruck and set piece, the bigger pitch allowed OG's to exploit the space and play some real running rugby.
The rate of progress, we are only 6 weeks in, is phenomenal. The whole squad need to take a big breath and pat itself on the back. We are already looking forward to the return fixture in early January.......
OG's U10's onwards and upwards.
Marcus
PS a first for this season... A HAPPY, rather than a 'not so happy', Pat(rick). Let's see if we can do it again.
