At this age, rugby is still very much about having fun, making friends and building confidence, while starting to develop the skills needed for tag rugby.

Sessions focus on ball handling, passing, evasion and support play, using a mixture of games and simple skills activities to keep everyone active and involved. The aim is to introduce the basics of rugby in a fun, friendly and inclusive environment, with plenty of encouragement along the way.

As the children progress, they’ll start to put those skills into practice through small-sided games, learning how to work together as a team and getting their first taste of playing rugby against other clubs.

Everything we do is built around England Rugby’s core values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship – TREDS. These values are at the heart of rugby and help our players learn to support their teammates, respect coaches and opposition, play fairly and, most importantly, enjoy being part of the rugby family.
