All new players are assured of the warmest of welcomes to our U12s group!
Our U12s are open to players in School Year 7, whether they’ve been playing rugby for years, are joining us from another club or are completely new to the game. Whatever your experience, you’ll quickly be made to feel part of the team.
At U12s, the game continues to develop, with players building on the skills and confidence gained through the younger age groups while being introduced to more of the elements they’ll see in the full game of rugby.
Training focuses on developing passing, catching, tackling, running, support play and decision-making, alongside improving positional awareness and understanding how to work effectively as a team. Players are encouraged to communicate, make their own decisions on the pitch and grow in confidence both with and without the ball.
Sessions combine skills and drills with plenty of game-based activities and match play, giving players the opportunity to put what they’ve learnt into practice. Our coaches continue to place a strong emphasis on safe and effective contact technique while helping each player develop at their own pace.
Fixtures and festivals against other clubs form an important part of the season and give everyone the opportunity to enjoy competitive rugby in a positive and supportive environment. While naturally everyone enjoys winning, development, participation and enjoyment remain at the heart of what we do.
U12s is also about much more than what happens on the pitch. It’s about friendships, confidence, teamwork and being part of something. We want our players to enjoy coming to training, support their teammates and develop a love of rugby that will hopefully continue long into the future.
Everything we do is built around England Rugby’s core values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship – TREDS.
New players are always welcome, so come along, get involved and become part of the team!
