Honouring the Past, Celebrating the Present

Esme Wright16 Jun - 09:00

Awards nights, Nations Cup rugby, committee nominations and a fond farewell to one of Old Grammarians' most cherished Vice Presidents.

  • A Night to Remember – Men's First XV End of Season Awards – The Men's First XV gathered on Saturday for their end of season BBQ, bringing together players, coaches and club members to celebrate what has been a fantastic year for the squad. The evening's award winners were:

  • Coaches' Player of the Year – Teddy Mansfield

  • Players' Player of the Year – Charlie Warwick

  • Rookie of the Year – Raihan Yaheya

  • The night also featured a very special moment as the senior squad said farewell and thank you to Scott Stoba, who is stepping down as First XV coach to take up an exciting new role at Northampton Saints Academy. The good news is that Scott isn't going anywhere, he will continue to be a familiar face at the club, carrying on his brilliant work coaching the U13s as they move up to U14s next season. Everyone at Old Grammarians wishes him the very best in his new role. Northampton Saints are getting a good one! Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to everyone who made the evening such a great occasion.

            • Vale – Mrs Eileen Pitcher, Vice President – It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Mrs Eileen Pitcher, a hugely significant figure in the history of Old Grammarians and very much loved by all who knew her. Eileen had the distinction of being the club's first ever lady Vice President and leaves behind a wonderful legacy at OGs. Her son Ian and daughter-in-law Lesley, both Vice Presidents themselves, have asked that we share the funeral details with all those who would like to attend.
