It was a trip down memory lane for our Girls Head Coach, Patrick Micallef, this weekend as he headed to Bristol for the Wooden Spoon Conference, representing Hertfordshire in his role as Ambassador for the charity.

But whilst in Bristol, there was an opportunity he simply couldn't miss!

A short trip to the University of Bristol saw Patrick on the sidelines watching UBWRFC take on Hartpury, with not one, but TWO former Unicorns in action on the same pitch!

Having had the pleasure of coaching both Mel and Daisy during their time at OGs, Patrick was absolutely thrilled to see them playing at university level and, even better, to watch them both in action together for the very first time.

For any grassroots coach, there's something rather special about watching players you've helped develop continue their rugby journey. From those early training sessions at OGs to competing at university level, it's a wonderful reminder of just how far rugby can take you.

We're incredibly proud of both girls and it's fantastic to see them continuing to enjoy the game they started playing with us.
